Preeto P110 Review Test
The eMTB motor market is shaking up. While established European and Japanese brands have been calling the shots for years, new players out of Asia are charging in with serious technical momentum. The Avinox (DJI) business model is catching on. With Preeto, another previously unknown manufacturer from China aims to disrupt the full-power motor pecking order. In standardized lab testing and out on the trail, the new P110 system delivers notable efficiency and innovative sensor tech, but it also reveals a few details that still need refining.
Power Delivery Under the Microscope
On the stationary dyno, the Preeto P110 backs up the spec-sheet numbers of 750 watts peak power and 110 newton-meters of torque. On paper, that puts the unit roughly ten percent above the current market benchmark of a Bosch Performance Line CX.
The software tuning, however, reveals a distinct character: with low rider input below 100 watts, the motor feels noticeably restrained. The system only unleashes its full punch once the rider is actively driving the pedals with more than 100 watts of their own effort. If you’re putting out 150 watts or more—requiring a sporty riding style—you can tap into the full potential of up to 750 watts.
Cadence Analysis and Software Tuning
In the cadence-dependency analysis, the 3D power-output map shows a striking parallel to European benchmarks. The curve shape is almost identical to the character of a Bosch drive unit: up to an input power of 150 watts, the system delivers plenty of assist even at low cadences—perfect for laid-back riders cruising on long tours.
Higher cadences only get rewarded when paired with higher rider input. In a way, the motor’s tuning feels like it’s trying to blend the best of both worlds into one package.
Innovative sensor tech for trail use
Its biggest trump card shows up on technical climbs, where a high-resolution encoder disc on the rear wheel acts as the sensor. Unlike many competitors whose drives keep surging unpredictably when traction breaks on wet roots or loose-over-hard, this system relies on efficient anti-slip control.
In milliseconds, it detects rear-wheel spin, smoothly dials back motor output, and only ramps back in once dependable grip is back on tap. Paired with crisp, quick response and a controlled, early cut-off of overrun after you stop pedaling, it claws up even insanely steep pitches with a level of composure similar to the innovative Avinox system. That calm, drama-free modulation—and the not over-the-top power figures—also give the motor a very natural ride feel.
Acoustic Check
The motor isn’t exactly stealthy. It’s always audible when it’s pushing, and when you’re hammering down a singletrack descent it kicks out the typical gearbox rattle you hear on other drives, too. That said, since the parent company has the entire manufacturing chain—including all the gears—under one roof, there’s big potential for quick mechanical updates.
Efficiency, range, and thermal performance
In our standardized range test, the Underdog specced with an 800 Wh battery set a new benchmark in this battery class. The system logged a total of 2300 meters of elevation gain before the juice was completely tapped out.
That massive efficiency also comes down to a more conservative system speed: for 1000 meters of climbing, the Preeto needs 23 minutes, while high-output “Express” drives like the Avinox system or a modified Aventon drive knock out the same vert in 21 minutes or less. Under extreme, sustained load, the compact 2.6 kg motor does tend to heat up noticeably at the cooling surfaces.
After around 1200 meters of climbing in max-assist mode, a slight, measurable thermal derating kicked in, then self-managed over the course of the test after a short cool-down phase.

Conclusion on the Preeto P110
The Chinese have already dialed in the interplay of high power density, excellent sensor tech, and exemplary energy efficiency before even hitting the market. Preet still has a thing or two to sort out, but even now the drive unit is at a surprisingly high level. It’s easy to imagine we’ll soon see this motor as a white-label solution in bikes from European brands. Manufacturers like Preeto are pouring gasoline on the already roaring fire of the e-bike motor market.
