Bulls Copperhead EVO 1 XXL 27,5 Review

When it comes to classic mountain bikes without a motor, the Copperhead model series is one of the most popular bikes for beginners. And the Copperhead EVO 1 XXL 27,5 also wants to live up to this reputation. At an attractive price of 3799 €, they want to convince with a solid bike. They deliberately refrain from technical innovations to not put too much strain on the customer's wallet.
The Performance Line CX Smart System from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. Also seemingly hopeless inclines the Bosch motor easily climbs up well. The Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System provides a very natural riding experience with a dynamic power delivery. Achieving such a perfect balance between natural support and power is something few other engines can do. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the Copperhead EVO 1 XXL 27,5 are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Copperhead EVO 1 XXL 27,5 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (4000) .

When the trail gets rougher, however, the comparatively poor Bulls suspension fork can quickly put the brakes on the downhill fun. Especially for heavy riders, the Bulls brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. If the Meta's chainstay length is less than 445, the short chainstay and, if the Reach's Relative Rating is less than 3, the relatively short reach characterise the Bulls as a playful, agile bike. This makes it easy to navigate through winding trails. Small wheels are becoming rare, but with the Copperhead EVO 1 XXL 27,5 the 27.5 wheels pay off with a playful riding experience. The deep bottom bracket also provides excellent cornering and thus contributes to the good handling. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Bulls Copperhead EVO 1 XXL 27,5

With a poor fork and a mediocre brake system, the Copperhead EVO 1 XXL 27,5 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a top-notch motor, a good geometry and a great range.
