Focus SAM² 6.7 Review

Made for the rough stuff! With 170 mm of travel, the SAM² 6.7 is a thoroughbred enduro. Even larger obstacles should not upset this bike. One special feature: the cables run through the stem into the frame, which makes for a tidy look. Also worth mentioning: the patented FOLD rear triangle with closed frame and proven function.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. With torque under the motor cover, the support is generous. Nobody needs to fear steep hills anymore. Furthermore, the power of the motor control is regulated so that the start always feels dynamic,. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the SAM² 6.7 with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Focus SAM² 6.7 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

As the hits get faster and harder the average chassis limits the downhill fun. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. At the brakes, Focus middle class four pistons brakes by SRAM are used. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Oh boy, with the geometry you have to be ready to make compromises from our perspective. The most important measurements and angles fall slightly out of the grid of good bikes. Also, weight is an important factor when it comes to EMTB. The SAM² 6.7 isn't exactly shining in this regard. There are lighter Enduros on the market.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Focus SAM² 6.7

With a weak chassis and a mediocre brake system, the SAM² 6.7 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities. With 6 years of warranty, nothing stands in the way of a long-term relationship.
