Crafted with utmost precision, the frame of the PHASE S is handmade in England following the highest standards of craftsmanship.
Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP801. Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Shimano EP801 conveys a riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the PHASE S with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Orange PHASE S in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (8000) .

Rough descents take away some of the fear thanks to the average chassis. In comparison, it's noticeable that the direct competition mounts better chassises, thus offering significantly more control. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Thanks to the solid power, the SRAM brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons and 200 millimeter rotors , Orange won't take any chances in that area. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. When it comes to the geometry, Orange does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orange PHASE S

The developers of Orange have created a solid all-rounder with the PHASE S. Even though the E-Mountainbike reveals a weak flank with an average motor and a middle ground chassis, it remains thanks to a good brake system:Genetiv a widely applicable vehicle.
