The delicate rear triangle of the eXF 9049 R is turning heads in an EMTB scene otherwise dominated by beefy tube shapes. Here, the Polish team at Superior have achieved a great variation in design prowess.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP 6 RS, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Shimano motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The Shimano EP 6 RS gives off a well-rounded riding feeling. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the eXF 9049 R in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

The good Dt Swiss chassis absorbs even larger roots with the calmness of a Buddhist monk. Thanks to the solid power, the Shimano brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons , Superior won't take any chances in that area. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Superior uses good equipment. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of Superior doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Superior eXF 9049 R

With an average motor, the eXF 9049 R definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a good chassis, a good brake system and a good groupset.
