Trek Fuel EXe 9.5 Review

In steep sections the somewhat low torque TQ motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The TQ HPR 50 provides a very natural riding experience. The power delivery is always gentle. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

In the about 6000€ price range, most manufacturers use aluminium as the frame material. With a carbon frame, Trek turns the weight screw and sets itself apart from the competitors. The Rock Shox chassis provides safety and traction, even when the trail gets rougher. However, it comes to its limit at high speed. Especially for heavy riders, the Trek brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. When it comes to the geometry, Trek does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. The scale stays at 19,93 kg with this model. That makes the Fuel EXe 9.5 one of the light All Mountains.
