The Americans from Trek are among the innovators in the e-mountain bike segment. With the Powerfly 7, however, they prove that they can also build simple bikes for everyday use without technical overkill.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. Steep ramps are no problem for the Bosch motor. Additionally, the Bosch Performance Line CX stands out with a very well-rounded riding feeling and a progressive power delivery. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the Powerfly 7 are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Powerfly 7 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

The very good fork brand Federgabel absorbs roots with the calmness of a Buddhist monk. Especially for heavy riders, the Trek brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. A nice touch: The gear and components are on a very good level. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. With its 22,3 kg, the Powerfly 7 is one of the lighter E-bikes. The competition is often significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Trek Powerfly 7

At first glance, you better look away when it comes to an average brake system. Nevertheless, the Powerfly 7 presents itself overall as an exceptional all-rounder. Especially a very good fork, a very good groupset and a very good handling are playing into the hands of the Trek. The Powerfly 7 is a successful Tourenbike for tours on forest roads and easy single trails. Check the geometry table carefully before buying: The Powerfly 7 sizing runs small. Trek gives a warranty of 25 years on the bike.
