The JAM² 6.8 comes from the Stuttgart development center of Focus. The elaborate FOLD rear triangle has already proven itself in mountain bikes without an engine and is therefore also used here.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. The very well-rounded motor control and the dynamic power output characterise the character of the Bosch motor. Achieving such a perfect balance between natural support and power is something few other engines can do. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Focus JAM² 6.8 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Focus uses average parts. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of Focus doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Focus JAM² 6.8

With an average chassis and a mediocre brake system, the JAM² 6.8 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a good motor and a Impressive range. With 6 years of warranty, nothing stands in the way of a long-term relationship.
