Ghost E-Teru Essential Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line shows. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Bosch motor requires a lot of initiative from the biker. The Bosch Performance Line gives off a well-rounded riding feeling. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

On rough terrain, the E-Teru Essential, with its only average fork, lacks some control. In descending situations, the Shimano brakes require a lot of hand strength or, optionally, courage from the biker. With two pistons and small 18 brake rotors, they only brake poorly. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. If the Meta's chainstay length is less than 445 short wheelbase and a moderate reach value make the handling pleasantly playful. Small wheels are becoming rare, but with the E-Teru Essential the 27.5 wheels pay off with a playful riding experience. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.
