Mondraker DUSK R Review

In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP8 engine. The natural motor control and the harmonious power output characterise the character of the Shimano motor. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

The Fox chassis provides safety and traction, even when the trail gets rougher. However, it comes to its limit at high speed. The mid-range brakes from SRAM do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Mondraker uses average parts. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar.
