Even though the James 2 has 120 mm of travel at the fork, it lacks rear suspension for serious off-road use. The e-hardtail feels most comfortable on asphalt or gravel bike paths.
The Performance Line CX from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. The Bosch motor takes away the fear of even the steepest ramps. The combination of a very well-rounded riding feeling and a dynamic power delivery characterises the Bosch Performance Line CX. The well-tuned riding modes cater to bikers of all preferences. Whoever likes to go on long rides will be pleased with the very good range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Bionicon James 2 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (4000) .

Good damping qualities are shown through the SR Suntour mid-range fork. The narrow #reifen_inch_breite Schwalbe tires do not do this EMTB's range of use any justice. In our opinion, Bionicon has saved weight in the wrong place here. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. When it comes to the geometry, Bionicon does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Bionicon James 2

With a very strong range, a good motor and a good geometry the James 2 counts among the better climbers on the market. This emphasizes its fun factor on long tours on forest paths and easy trails. Nevertheless, an average groupset also give cause for criticism. We have to stay honest. Warning when choosing size: The James 2 sizing runs small.
