Shimano has become the biggest component manufacturer for bicycles thanks to its gear, pedal and brake components. It's clear that the Japanese want to shape the E-Bike trend from this dominant market position. No matter how steep or technical the climb is: the Shimano motor makes it conquerable! At the same time, the drive provides a well-rounded feeling while riding with a harmonious power delivery. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the iLYNX+ TRAIL CARBON 8.9 are no problem.

The frame is simply top notch, keeping you in control even on rougher trails full of fast hard hits. With its four pistons and larger brake rotors the Shimano braking system decelerates top-notchly. This allows you to maintain control over your own pace even in the steepest descents. The shifting and the rest of the components are always in the shadow of the engine when it comes to electric mountain bikes. Nevertheless, BH doesn't skimp here and instals very good components. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The deep bottom bracket also provides excellent cornering and thus contributes to the good handling. We love deep bottom brackets, as long as it's going downhill. Uphill you need to be aware that the crank can sometimes hit the ground.
