Although the Spaniards had to calculate with extremely sharp pencils at the price point of 1999,9 €, they did not neglect the design. The ATOM 29 comes with a distinctive silhouette and interesting features. For instance, the motor is mounted vertically to provide more space for the battery. A bottle cage can be mounted within easy reach beneath the top tube.
At steep sections, the somewhat weak BH motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The BH 1E-36V gives off a rough riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the ATOM 29, because of its low range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the BH ATOM 29 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (2000) .

The bad SR Suntour fork suspension transmits bumps relatively clearly to the rider. In descending situations, the Shimano brakes require a lot of hand strength or, optionally, courage from the biker. With two pistons and small 18 brake rotors, they only brake poorly. The components and the shifting seem less important for BH. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. When it comes to the geometry, BH does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability.

Conclusion

Expirience with the BH ATOM 29

If it is important to you to get a particularly good parts for your money, you should put the ATOM 29 on your shopping list. With a good handling, the price-performance ratio is unbeatable in the price range about 2000€. Furthermore, the BH is a good entry-all-rounder for tours on forest paths and easy trails. Be careful when choosing the size: The Aluminium frame sizing runs big.
