The bulbous downtube of the iLYNX+ ENDURO CARBON 9.8 has become a signature trait of the Spanish brand. There's no deeper meaning behind it.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP81, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. The Shimano motor climbs steep ramps effortlessly. The natural riding feeling combines the Shimano EP81 with a harmonious power delivery. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the iLYNX+ ENDURO CARBON 9.8 are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the BH iLYNX+ ENDURO CARBON 9.8 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (8000) .

The good Fox chassis confidently dampens small and medium bumps. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Whoever wants to ride fast, needs good brakes. The Shimano brakes are equipped with four pistons and large brake rotors. That way, the premium brakes decelerate more than adequately. The components and the gears are less in the spotlight with an EMTB than with bikes without motor. Nevertheless, when we take a look we find out that here, good components are always used. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. Furthermore, the bike lies excellent on the trail thanks to its low bottom bracket and thus low centre of gravity. Due to the short chainstays and the shallow seat angle, when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. The deep bottom bracket can however lead to crank strikes in technical uphills and disrupt the climbing flow. On the scale, the iLYNX+ ENDURO CARBON 9.8 makes a good figure with 21,75 kg. Most Trailbikes are significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the BH iLYNX+ ENDURO CARBON 9.8

Especially when gravity pulls man and machine downwards, the iLYNX+ ENDURO CARBON 9.8 really comes alive. With a $brake system_sehr_gut brake system, a very good handling and a good chassis the BH is a real trail rocket even for really gnarly terrain.
