Bulls SONIC EVA AM SX 1 Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the SX shows. The Swabians from Bosch are sending their first light engine into the race with the SX. With 55 Nm torque, this unit places exactly in the middle between Fazua's Ride 6 and TQ's HPR 5. However, it delivers up to 6 watts of support, similar performance figures to the popular Bosch CX. The starting behavior remains dynamic. The complete motor control is very $natural. In terms of installation space and sound, the small Bosch can't quite keep up with its competitors from the Light segment. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the SONIC EVA AM SX 1 , because of its low range.

Carbon is considered a premium material in the bike industry. In the price range about 6€, aluminium is usually the frame material used. With the carbon frame, Bulls can clearly differentiate itself from many competitors. If the trail gets rougher however, the comparatively weak chassis can quickly limit the downhill fun. Especially for heavy riders, the Bulls brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. When it comes to the geometry, Bulls does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Overall, the Bulls developers have done a great job with a god geometry. With its 19,6 kg, the SONIC EVA AM SX 1 is one of the lighter E-bikes. The competition is often significantly heavier.
