The futuristic design of the Sonic EVA TR 1 fits perfectly into the corporate identity of the Bulls Sonic line. Like all the other fullys in the Sonic lineup, the Sonic EVA TR 1 has a four-link rear triangle with upright shock. Although this has slightly less travel than the fork, it still allows trips into light terrain.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. No matter how steep or technical the climb is: the Bosch motor makes it conquerable! At the same time, the drive provides a very natural feeling while riding with a progressive power delivery. The well-tuned riding modes cater to bikers of all preferences. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Bulls Sonic EVA TR 1 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (4000) .

The frame on entry-level was stingy with control. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. The components and the shifting seem less important for Bulls. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. On winding trails, the playful handling comes to the fore, as the bike masters even the fastest direction changes with the short wheelbase playfully. Small wheels are becoming rare, but with the Sonic EVA TR 1 the 27.5 wheels pay off with a playful riding experience. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Bulls Sonic EVA TR 1

The Sonic EVA TR 1 doesn't stand out among the other bikes on the market. It is overshadowed by a simple groupset and a mediocre range. Still, it is a solid climber and should find a loyal following.
