Bulls Sonic EVO EN-SL 1 Carbon Review

As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. The natural motor control and the gentle power output characterise the character of the Shimano motor. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

In the about 6000€ price range, most manufacturers use aluminium as the frame material. With a carbon frame, Bulls turns the weight screw and sets itself apart from the competitors. Even nasty descents get smoothened by the good Rock Shox chassis. Especially for heavy riders, the Bulls brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. The narrow #reifen_inch_breite Schwalbe tires do not do this All Mountains range of use any justice. In our opinion, Bulls has saved weight in the wrong place here. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Bulls uses average parts. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. With its 21,6 kg, the Sonic EVO EN-SL 1 Carbon is one of the lighter E-bikes. The competition is often significantly heavier.
