Commencal META POWER SX BOSCH RACE Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. Steep ramps are no problem for the Bosch motor. Additionally, the Bosch Performance Line CX stands out with a very well-rounded riding feeling and a dynamic power delivery. The well-tuned riding modes cater to bikers of all preferences. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides.

No matter how tricky the ground may be, the extremely good Rock Shox chassis brings calmness and provides a lot of control. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Bad brakes reduce the riding pleasure. Fortunately, this is not the case with the META POWER SX BOSCH RACE. With their four pistons and large brake rotors the TRP brake brakes good. The narrow #reifen_inch_breite Schwalbe tires do not do this Enduros range of use any justice. In our opinion, Commencal has saved weight in the wrong place here. At the drive components and the remaining parts, Commencal uses very good parts. When it comes to the geometry, Commencal does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Oh boy, with the geometry you have to be ready to make compromises from our perspective. The most important measurements and angles fall slightly out of the grid of good bikes.
