The Bavarian brand CUBE has kept its fans in suspense when it comes to the topic of light EMTB. Now, the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X Race aims to meet the expectations of those in search of a nimble EMTB. The bike positions itself deliberately beyond the descent-focused enduro spectrum with a modest 14 mm of front suspension travel, targeting riders who prioritize touring capabilities.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the SX shows. The developers at Bosch are entering the race with their first Light Motor, the Performance SX. With 55 Nm of torque, the unit sits squarely between Fazua's Ride 6 and TQ's HPR 5. However, it delivers similar power values to the popular Full-Power sibling, the Powermotor CX, with up to 6 watts of assistance. However, the Bosch SX only delivers this power at a very high cadence. To feel the full power, one must pedal at a sporty 1 revolutions per minute. The startup behavior remains harmonious. The entire motor control is very natural. While in operation, the Performance SX is quieter than the Powermotor CX, but still louder than the sometimes whisper-quiet competition from Fazua or TQ. When descending, Bosch has managed to reduce rattling compared to the CX model, although it remains noticeably audible with the SX. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X Race, because of its low range. Who wants to remove the battery for charging or storing, will be disappointed with the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X Race. The battery is firmly built-in.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the CUBE AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X Race 400X 29 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

Carbon is considered a premium material in the bike industry. In the price range about 5€, aluminium is usually the frame material used. With the carbon frame, CUBE can clearly differentiate itself from many competitors. Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. With its 18,8 kg, the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X Race is one of the lighter E-bikes. The competition is often significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the CUBE AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X Race 400X 29

Especially when gravity pulls man and machine downwards, the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X Race really comes alive. With a very good handling the CUBE is a real trail rocket. Despite its many advantages, the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X Race also has a weak side. You have to live with a middle ground chassis and a $brake system_durchschnittlich brake system on this EMTB.
