The Bavarian brand CUBE has kept its fans in suspense when it comes to the topic of light EMTB. Now, the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X SLTl aims to meet the expectations of those in search of a nimble EMTB. The bike positions itself deliberately beyond the descent-focused enduro spectrum with a modest 14 mm of front suspension travel, targeting riders who prioritize touring capabilities.
The SX from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. The Swabians from Bosch are sending their first light engine into the race with the SX. With 55 Nm torque, this unit places exactly in the middle between Fazua's Ride 6 and TQ's HPR 5. However, it delivers up to 6 watts of support, similar performance figures to the popular Bosch CX. The starting behavior remains progressive. The complete motor control is very $natural. In terms of installation space and sound, the small Bosch can't quite keep up with its competitors from the Light segment. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X SLT , because of its low range. The battery is securely attached to the down tube and cannot be removed for charging or storage.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the CUBE AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X SLT in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (8000) .

The highend Fox chassis absorbs big hits like Chuck Norris and provides a lot of traction and control. At the rear, the steel spring shock absorber provides maximum sensitivity. At the brakes, CUBE middle class two pistons brakes with small 18 brake rotors by Shimano are used. At the drive components and the remaining parts, CUBE uses very good parts. When it comes to the geometry, CUBE does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. When I looked at the weight of the complete bike, my jaw actually dropped. With 16,2 kg, the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X SLT is a real lightweight. If the crankset stands still during the descent, the motor and battery become an unnecessary burden. But CUBE manages to give the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X SLT a natural, smooth handling despite this, with a pleasing geometry and low weight. Only very few manufacturers manage to create the illusion of a MTB without motor in the EMTB genre. Hats off!

Conclusion

Expirience with the CUBE AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X SLT

For tours, the AMS Hybrid ONE44 C:68X SLT with a fantastic handling, a very good motor and a very good chassis is well equipped. Only with an average brake system you have to look away.
