The FOLD rear end is not only stiffer than many others thanks to its closed frame triangle, it also works first class and has been tested for years. So the developers aren't taking any chances with the JAM² 7.9. A special feature: Above the bottle cage there is still a mounting option for a storage pack.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. Also seemingly hopeless inclines the Shimano motor easily climbs up well Even though the EP8 doesn't reach the performance of a Bosch CX Motor at maximum output, for example.. The Shimano EP8 provides a natural riding experience with a gentle power delivery. Whoever likes to go on long rides will be pleased with the very good range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the JAM² 7.9 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (6000) .

The good Fox chassis confidently dampens small and medium bumps. When it comes to the brakes, Focus reaches for the top shelf and instals premium brakes with four pistons and large brake rotors from Shimano. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. When it comes to the geometry, Focus does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Focus JAM² 7.9

With an average groupset, the JAM² 7.9 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a very good brake system, a very good range and a good motor. The guarantee promise of 6 years provides trust.
