There are few companies with such a wide E-MTB product range as Focus. The JAM² 8.8 is one of the most successful E-MTBs ever developed in Stuttgart.
The Performance Line CX Smart System from Bosch shows impressively that they shouldn't be limited to DIY and household products. The very well-rounded motor control and the progressive power output characterise the character of the Bosch motor. Achieving such a perfect balance between natural support and power is something few other engines can do. Whoever likes to go on long rides will be pleased with the very good range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Focus JAM² 8.8 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

The good Fox chassis confidently dampens small and medium bumps. At the brakes, Focus middle class four pistons brakes by Magura are used. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. When it comes to the geometry, Focus does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Focus JAM² 8.8

Overall, the JAM² 8.8 is, due to an excellent motor, a very good range and a good chassis is a good all-rounder for long trips on insanely technical trails. Only a middle ground brake system and a mediocre groupset slightly tarnish the otherwise successful overall picture. With 6 years of guarantee, nothing can go wrong in the long run.
