Focus Thron² 6.7 Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. The Bosch motor climbs steep ramps effortlessly. The very natural riding feeling combines the Bosch Performance Line CX with a dynamic power delivery. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the Thron² 6.7 with only an average range.

The chassis unfortunately isn't great. Riders might lack comfort on rough terrain. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. Shifting and components still leave room for improvement. Other providers dig deeper into their pockets for these assemblies. When it comes to the geometry, Focus does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Also, weight is an important factor when it comes to EMTB. The Thron² 6.7 isn't exactly shining in this regard. There are lighter Trailbikes on the market.
