Ample suspension meets simplistic design. The ECA 1 aims to impress with performance rather than aesthetics. Does it succeed?
No matter how steep or technical the climb is: the Yamaha motor makes it conquerable! At the same time, the drive provides a well-rounded feeling while riding with a dynamic power delivery. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the ECA 1 are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the ECA 1 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

As the hits get faster and harder the average chassis limits the downhill fun. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. The mid-range brakes from SRAM do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. For an All Mountain , the Continental tires with a width of #reifen_inch_breite inches are relatively narrow. In our opinion, GASGAS could have put on wider tires. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. The 64° angle low head tube angle gives the ECA 1 increased stability at higher speeds. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. The view of the weight of 25,6 kg reveals: There are lighter All Mountains.

Conclusion

Expirience with the GASGAS ECA 1

With a poor chassis and a mediocre brake system, the ECA 1 definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a good motor and a good range.
