Giant FATHOM E+ EX [29″/SPORT/625WH] Review

In steep sections the somewhat low torque Giant motor requires a lot of initiative from the biker. The Giant SyncDrive Sport provides a natural riding experience. The power delivery is always dynamic. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

In rough terrain, the FATHOM E+ EX lacks a bit of control with its only average fork. The narrow #reifen_inch_breite Maxxis tires do not do this EMTB's range of use any justice. In our opinion, Giant has saved weight in the wrong place here. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Giant uses average parts. When it comes to the geometry, Giant does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. The view of the weight of 25,52 kg reveals: There are lighter Tourenbikes.
