Giant STANCE E+ 1 [29″/SPORT/625WH] Review

In steep sections the somewhat low torque Giant motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The Giant SyncDrive Sport provides a well-rounded riding experience. The power delivery is always dynamic. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

On rough terrain, the STANCE E+ 1 with its mediocre Rock Shox chassis lacks bit of control. The mid-range brakes from Tektro do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. Shifting and components still leave room for improvement. Other providers dig deeper into their pockets for these assemblies. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Oh boy, with the geometry you have to be ready to make compromises from our perspective. The most important measurements and angles fall slightly out of the grid of good bikes.
