Giant STANCE E+ 2 [29″/SPORT/625WH] Review

The Giant SyncDrive Sport is not one of the powerhouses on the market. The somewhat low torque engine could use a bit more support, especially on steep climbs. The motor control of Giant conveys a natural riding experience. The progressive power delivery is an ace up the sleeve of the SyncDrive Sport. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the STANCE E+ 2 625WH are no problem.

On rough terrain, the STANCE E+ 2 625WH with its average SR Suntour chassis lacks bit of control. Especially for heavy riders, the Giant brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. The components and the shifting seem less important for Giant. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. It's no use beating around the bush: the geometry of Giant doesn't suit our taste. Competitors are closer to the cutting edge here.
