Giant TRANCE X ADVANCED E+ ELITE 2 Review

The TRANCE X ADVANCED E+ ELITE 2 is the spearhead in Giant's E-MTB development. The concept with a small integrated battery, the option of a range extender and full engine power is not entirely new, but nevertheless implemented absolutely consistently in the TRANCE X ADVANCED E+ ELITE 2. This is how Giant wants to reconcile power, range and weight.
The natural motor control and the dynamic power output characterise the character of the Giant motor. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly. The battery is firmly integrated into the frame and can not be easily removed.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the TRANCE X ADVANCED E+ ELITE 2 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

Carbon is considered a premium material in the bike industry. In the price range about 7000€, aluminium is usually the frame material used. With the carbon frame, Giant can clearly differentiate itself from many competitors. Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. Thanks to the solid power, the Shimano brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons and big brake rotors, Giant won't take any chances in that area. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Overall, the geometry does not seem to be up to date anymore. The competition is significantly more modern in this regard. With its 20,4 kg, the TRANCE X ADVANCED E+ ELITE 2 is one of the lighter E-bikes. The competition is often significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Giant TRANCE X ADVANCED E+ ELITE 2

The TRANCE X ADVANCED E+ ELITE 2 isnt`t a specialist on the trail. Despite a poor range and a mediocre chassis, it remains thanks to a good motor and a good brake system a solid all-rounder with a wide range of use. The warranty of 25 years proves that Giant has a lot of trust in its products.
