Straight lines, engine protection and a shock that disappears into the seat tube. The Mountain Cross 4 fits perfectly into Husqvarna's design language.
Shimano has become the biggest component manufacturer for bicycles thanks to its gear, pedal and brake components. It's clear that the Japanese want to shape the E-Bike trend from this dominant market position. With torque under the motor cover, the support is generous. Nobody needs to fear steep hills anymore. Furthermore, the power of the motor control is regulated so that the start always feels dynamic,. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Mountain Cross 4 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (4000) .

As the hits get faster and harder the average chassis limits the downhill fun. The components and the shifting seem less important for Husqvarna. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Overall, the geometry does not seem to be up to date anymore. The competition is significantly more modern in this regard.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Husqvarna Mountain Cross 4

The developers of Husqvarna have created a solid all-rounder with the Mountain Cross 4. Even though the E-Mountainbike reveals a weak flank with a poor chassis and a simple brake system, it remains a widely applicable vehicle. Warning when choosing size: The Mountain Cross 4 sizing runs big.
