KTM MACINA PROWLER MASTER Review

Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX Smart System shows. The Bosch motor takes away the fear of even the steepest ramps. The combination of a very natural riding feeling and a progressive power delivery characterises the Bosch Performance Line CX Smart System. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. Thanks to the very good range, you should no longer have any range problems even on very long tours.

The Rock Shox chassis provides safety and traction, even when the trail gets rougher. However, it comes to its limit at high speed. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Bad brakes reduce the riding pleasure. Fortunately, this is not the case with the MACINA PROWLER MASTER. With their four pistons the Shimano brake brakes good. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. Oh boy, with the geometry you have to be ready to make compromises from our perspective. The most important measurements and angles fall slightly out of the grid of good bikes. Also, weight is an important factor when it comes to EMTB. The MACINA PROWLER MASTER isn't exactly shining in this regard. There are lighter Enduros on the market.
