Hardtails might not have a vast following in the EMTB scene, yet KTM aims to score a hit with the Macina Race SX 10. However, boasting merely 100 mm of front travel, serious off-road excursions are off the table.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX Smart System shows. With torque under the motor cover, the support is generous. Nobody needs to fear steep hills anymore. Furthermore, the power of the motor control is regulated so that the start always feels dynamic,. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Macina Race SX 10 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (4000) .

Carbon is considered a premium material in the bike industry. In the price range about 3500€, aluminium is usually the frame material used. With the carbon frame, KTM can clearly differentiate itself from many competitors. Rough descents take the good Rock Shox fork brand its course, though not with the calmness of a top-end fork. At the brakes, KTM reaches for the bottom of the Shimano shelf and instals weak brakes with two pistons. Taking a holistic approach also includes looking at the gearing and components. The components are of good qualtiy and offer no reason for criticism here. If the Meta's chainstay length is less than 445 short wheelbase and a moderate reach value make the handling pleasantly playful. Overall, the geometry does not seem to be up to date anymore. The competition is significantly more modern in this regard. With its slim weight, the Macina Race SX 10 is one of the lightest EMTBs.

Conclusion

Expirience with the KTM Macina Race SX 10

Whoever likes to ride technically uphill should now prick up their ears. Because an outstanding motor and a good groupset make the Macina Race SX 10 effortlessly climb even the toughest uphill passages. But even tours on forest paths and easy trails are no problem with it. Despite its many advantages, the Macina Race SX 10 also has a weak side. You have to live with a weak range on this EMTB. Be careful when choosing the size: The Carbon frame sizing runs small.
