Those who are over stimulated by the industry's affinity for technology should take a closer look at the RIFT ZONE E. After all, it's almost in Marin's style to forego technical innovations. The americans prefer to deliver reliable bikes with proven technology at good prices and do without exclusive details.
Shimano has become the biggest component manufacturer for bicycles thanks to its gear, pedal and brake components. It's clear that the Japanese want to shape the E-Bike trend from this dominant market position. Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Shimano EP600 conveys a riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the RIFT ZONE E , because of its low range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the RIFT ZONE E in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

In comparison, it's noticeable that the direct competition mounts better chassises, thus offering significantly more control. Thanks to the solid power, the TRP brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons and big brake rotors, Marin won't take any chances in that area. Shifting and components still leave room for improvement. Other providers dig deeper into their pockets for these assemblies. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Marin RIFT ZONE E

The RIFT ZONE E isnt`t a specialist on the trail. Despite a poor chassis and a weak groupset, it remains thanks to a good brake system and a good geometry a solid all-rounder with a wide range of use. With 5 years of warranty, nothing stands in the way of a long-term relationship.
