Merida eBIG NINE 300 SE Review

In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the E7000 engine. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Shimano motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The Shimano E7000 gives off a digital riding feeling. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

On rough terrain, the eBIG NINE 300 SE, with its only average fork, lacks some control. At the brakes, Merida reaches for the bottom of the Shimano shelf and instals weak brakes with two pistons and small 18 brake rotors. The narrow #reifen_inch_breite Maxxis tires do not do this EMTB's range of use any justice. In our opinion, Merida has saved weight in the wrong place here. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails.
