Merida eBIG.NINE 675 Review

Shimano has become the biggest component manufacturer for bicycles thanks to its gear, pedal and brake components. It's clear that the Japanese want to shape the E-Bike trend from this dominant market position. Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Shimano EP600 conveys a riding feeling. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the eBIG.NINE 675 are no problem.

Rough descents take the good SR Suntour fork brand its course, though not with the calmness of a top-end fork. At the brakes, Merida reaches for the bottom of the SRAM shelf and instals simple brakes with four pistons and small 18 brake rotors. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Merida uses good equipment. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. Overall, the Merida developers have done a great job with a very god geometry.
