As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP801, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. The Shimano motor takes away the fear of even the steepest ramps. The combination of a natural riding feeling and a harmonious power delivery characterises the Shimano EP801. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

The very good chassis with 160 mm travel in the front and 150 mm rear hub also proves to have a lot of resilience even on rougher terrain. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. Whoever wants to ride fast, needs good brakes. The Shimano brakes are equipped with four pistons and large brake rotors. That way, the premium brakes decelerate more than adequately. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Mondraker uses good equipment. The relatively high reach value in the geometry table is compensated by Mondraker with a relatively short stem. Thus, the long main frame remains maneuverable in the terrain.
