Mondraker DUSK Review

Comparing the DUSK to the rest of Mondraker's lineup, it comes across as almost boring. However, the second bottle holder position under the top tube is clever.
In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP600 engine. Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Shimano EP600 conveys a riding feeling. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the DUSK are no problem.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Mondraker DUSK in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

As the bumps become faster and harder, the low-quality chassis could limit the descending fun quite early. The mid-range brakes from SRAM do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. The components and the shifting seem less important for Mondraker. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. When it comes to the geometry, Mondraker does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Mondraker DUSK

With a weak chassis and a poor groupset, the DUSK definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a good geometry and a good range. With 25 years of guarantee, nothing can go wrong in the long run.
