Mondraker THUNDRA Review

Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP600. Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Shimano EP600 conveys a riding feeling. Thanks to the good range, longer tours with the THUNDRA are no problem.

Rough descents take the good Rock Shox fork brand its course, though not with the calmness of a top-end fork. Especially for heavy riders, the Mondraker brakes could be a problem. With two pistons they only decelerate averagely. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Mondraker uses good equipment. In view of the high reach value, it becomes clear: The main frame is long. However, the generous reach is compensated for by a very short stem. This way, Mondraker creates a good weight distribution between the wheels and a balanced handling. On the scale, the THUNDRA makes a good figure with 22 kg. Most Tourenbikes are significantly heavier.
