Norco 2023 Fluid VLT A1 Review

In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP8 engine. The natural motor control and the gentle power output characterise the character of the Shimano motor. Thanks to the excellent range, you should no longer have any range problems.

In comparison, it's noticeable that the direct competition mounts better chassises, thus offering significantly more control. Especially for heavy riders, the Norco brakes could be a problem. With four pistons they only decelerate averagely. The components and the shifting seem less important for Norco. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. When it comes to the geometry, Norco does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling.
