Norco Sight VLT A2 720 Wh Review

In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP8 engine. The Shimano motor takes away the fear of even the steepest ramps. The combination of a well-rounded riding feeling and a gentle power delivery characterises the Shimano EP8. Whoever enjoys longer tours will be pleased with the good range.

Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. The flat head tube angle and long wheelbase provide riding stability due to the 64° angle. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Too steep and technical uphills are less the comfort zone of the Sight VLT A2. On bikes with a steeper seat angle and longer chainstays, it is much more relaxed to climb in demanding terrain.
