The Nukeproof brand has always supplied bikes for adrenaline-seeking trail lovers. With 170 mm of suspension travel at the fork, the Megawatt COMP also fits this mold.
Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP8. No matter how steep or technical the climb is: the Shimano motor makes it conquerable! At the same time, the drive provides a well-rounded feeling while riding with a harmonious power delivery. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Nukeproof Megawatt COMP in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (6000) .

Solid endurance qualities are shown by the chassis of medium quality. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. The mid-range brakes from SRAM do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Nukeproof uses average parts. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting.

Value for money

Conclusion

Expirience with the Nukeproof Megawatt COMP

With a poor range and a mediocre chassis, the Megawatt COMP definitely has weaknesses. Nevertheless, it remains a solid all-rounder with a wide range of abilities , thanks to a good motor and a good geometry.
