The reduced approach of the RISE H10 places this bike between the e-mountain bike worlds. However, due to the filigree appearance and its own motor concept, it can ultimately be said that this is a light E-MTB.
Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP8 RS. At the drivetrain, Orbea relies on the Shimano EP8 RS. The big difference between the EP8 RS and the regular EP8 motor lies in the software. For use in light EMTBs, the maximum support was slightly reduced. Nevertheless, the EP8 RS remains significantly stronger than other light motors. Like the EP8, the EP8 RS conveys a natural riding experience. The power delivery is always harmonious. Something annoying with the EP8 RS is the slight gear rattle downhill. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly. The battery is securely attached to the down tube and cannot be removed for charging or storage.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Orbea RISE H10 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

Even nasty descents get smoothened by the good Fox chassis. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup with small 180 brake rotors is only average. The components and the gears are less in the spotlight with an EMTB than with bikes without motor. Nevertheless, when we take a look we find out that here, good components are always used. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orbea RISE H10

Friends of gravity should jot down the RISE H10. With a very good handling and a good chassis, the Orbea is a real trail rocket. But a mediocre brake system are of course points of criticism that one should be aware of before purchasing. The generous warranty of 25 years proves that Orbea stands behind its products.
