Orbea RISE H10 Review

To manufacture an aluminium E-MTB frame with a slim silhouette, only the fewest manufacturers succeed in doing so. With the RISE H10, however, you can hardly tell that it's an e-bike. We take our hats off to this achievement.
In the automotive and motorcycle world, Japan has always had a reputation for being a breeding ground for excellent engines. Shimano is doing its utmost to live up to this reputation in the e-bike world with the EP8 RS engine. At the drivetrain, Orbea relies on the Shimano EP8 RS. The big difference between the EP8 RS and the regular EP8 motor lies in the software. For use in light EMTBs, the maximum support was slightly reduced. Nevertheless, the EP8 RS remains significantly stronger than other light motors. Like the EP8, the EP8 RS conveys a natural riding experience. The power delivery is always harmonious. Something annoying with the EP8 RS is the slight gear rattle downhill. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides. Who wants to remove the battery for charging or storing, will be disappointed with the RISE H10. The battery is firmly built-in.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the RISE H10 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (7000) .

A good chassis sits in rugged terrain and generates plenty of traction. That's exactly what the good Fox chassis in the RISE H10 hits. At the brakes, Orbea instals upper class brakes with two pistons from Shimano. At the drive components and the remaining parts, Orbea uses very good parts. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Overall, the Orbea developers have done a great job with a god geometry. With its 19,55 kg, the RISE H10 is one of the lighter E-bikes. The competition is often significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orbea RISE H10

Friends of gravity should jot down the RISE H10. With an extremely good handling, a good chassis and a good brake system, the Orbea is a real trail rocket. A generous warranty also speaks of sustainable business practices. With 25 years of warranty, Orbea sets the bar high!
