Orbea RISE H30 Review

To manufacture an aluminium E-MTB frame with a slim silhouette, only the fewest manufacturers succeed in doing so. With the RISE H30, however, you can hardly tell that it's an e-bike. We take our hats off to this achievement.
Shimano has become the biggest component manufacturer for bicycles thanks to its gear, pedal and brake components. It's clear that the Japanese want to shape the E-Bike trend from this dominant market position. At steep sections, the somewhat weak Shimano motor requires a lot of initiative from the biker. The Shimano EP 6 RS gives off a well-rounded riding feeling. The average range can become a problem especially for long mountain bike rides. Who wants to remove the battery for charging or storing, will be disappointed with the RISE H30. The battery is firmly built-in.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the RISE H30 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (5000) .

The Marzocchi chassis provides safety and traction, even when the trail gets rougher. However, it comes to its limit at high speed. The average shifting components and accessories leave some tuning potential open. For most e-bikers, this should be an acceptable point. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. For the good geometry, the developer team of Orbea definitely deserves props. Such a knack for detail in geometry is rarely seen. With its 20,91 kg, the RISE H30 is one of the lighter E-bikes. The competition is often significantly heavier.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orbea RISE H30

The RISE H30 isnt`t a specialist on the trail. Despite a weak brake system and a middle ground motor, it remains thanks to a very good geometry a solid all-rounder with a wide range of use. A generous warranty also speaks of sustainable business practices. With 25 years of warranty, Orbea sets the bar high!
