Orbea RISE LT M-TEAM Review

The RISE LT M-TEAM is equipped with a full 160 mm of suspension travel on the fork. The asymmetrical frame also provides 150 mm of travel. This means that Orbea has significantly upgraded its Rise compared to its predecessor. Bike park visits or trips to the legendary trails of Finale Ligure are no longer a problem. Details such as a hidden mini-tool in the frame or a flip-chip for geometry adjustment also show that Orbea has not only worked on the big picture, but also on small details.

Shimano motors remain at the top of the engine popularity alongside Bosch motors. No wonder, as evidenced by EP801 RS. The Shimano EP801 RS motor is based on the hardware of the Shimano EP801 motor, but the software for the RS is provided by Orbea. Unlike previous RS versions, this motor now offers a full torque of a hefty 85 Nm, placing it in the performance class of full-power motors like the Bosch CX. The software allows for customization of power delivery through two profiles in the Shimano E-Tube app: one profile for maximum range and another for dynamic force and maximum power. This adaptability gives the rider the freedom to tailor the motor performance to individual preferences. The power delivery of the EP801 RS is always smooth, with no harsh jerks or jolts. However, one must accept a clearly audible motor noise under load. Downhill, however, the EP801 RS is surprisingly quiet. The typical gear clatter of the EP801 motor is barely noticeable in the EP801 RS. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the RISE LT M-TEAM , because of its low range. The battery is firmly integrated into the frame and can not be easily removed.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Orbea RISE LT M-TEAM in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (11000) .

The top notch Fox chassis absorbs big hits like Chuck Norris and provides a lot of traction and control. At the rear, the steel spring shock absorber provides maximum sensitivity. At the brakes, Orbea reaches for the top shelf and instals deluxe-stopper with four pistons and 2 millimeter rotors from Shimano. The shifting and the rest of the components are always in the shadow of the engine when it comes to electric mountain bikes. Nevertheless, Orbea doesn't skimp here and instals very good components. When it comes to the geometry, Orbea does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Hell yeah, the geometry is killer! Here the remarkable know-how of the Orbea developers is videly visible. The scale stays at 18,8 kg with this model. That makes the RISE LT M-TEAM one of the light All Mountains.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orbea RISE LT M-TEAM

Especially when gravity pulls both man and machine down, the RISE LT M-TEAM really comes to life. With a fantastic brake system, a top-notch geometry and a very good chassis, the Orbea is a real trail rocket. But also a weak range are part of the overall package that one must be aware of before buying. With 25 years of guarantee, nothing can go wrong in the long run.
