Orbea RISE M10 Review

The Spanish manufacturer Orbea has grown strongly in recent years. The reason for this can also be clearly seen in the RISE M10. Because one success factor is definitely the style that the product developers breathe into their e-mountain bikes.
As a component giant, Shimano is mostly known for its dominant position in bicycle gears. But with the EP8 RS, the Japanese are clearly showing that they can look beyond their own plate too. At the drivetrain, Orbea relies on the Shimano EP8 RS. The big difference between the EP8 RS and the regular EP8 motor lies in the software. For use in light EMTBs, the maximum support was slightly reduced. Nevertheless, the EP8 RS remains significantly stronger than other light motors. Like the EP8, the EP8 RS conveys a natural riding experience. The power delivery is always harmonious. Something annoying with the EP8 RS is the slight gear rattle downhill. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the RISE M10 , because of its low range. The integrated battery gives developers constructive freedom when designing the frame. However, to charge it, the bike always has to be brought near an outlet.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the RISE M10 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (8000) .

The highend Fox chassis absorbs big hits like Chuck Norris and provides a lot of traction and control. Thanks to the solid power, the Shimano brakes can be counted on in the upper class segment. With four pistons , Orbea won't take any chances in that area. In the area of shifting and the overall parts, Orbea ist on the money. The superb accessories make sure people will notice this bike, no matter where you rock up with it. The handling of the bike is pleasantly balanced due to the moderate geometry. This allows you to intuitively control the bike over the trails. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. On the scale, the RISE M10 makes a good figure with 18,5 kg. Most All Mountains are significantly heavier.
