Orbea WILD M10 Review

For the 2023 season, the WILD M10 was completely revised. The result is a bike that has been stringently designed for fun on demanding single trails. The additional brace above the engine is to give more stiffness to the frame.
Bosch is the major motor manufacturer in the EMTB world, alongside Shimano - and it's no surprise, as the Performance Line CX shows. The very natural motor control and the dynamic power output characterise the character of the Bosch motor. The well-tuned driving modes hit the mark. Whoever likes to go on long rides will be pleased with the very good range.

At a glance

A good chassis sits in rugged terrain and generates plenty of traction. That's exactly what the good Fox chassis in the WILD M10 hits. The thick 38mm stanchions on the fork provide an extra dose of steering precision and performance. The mid-range brakes from Shimano do their job but could be a bit firmer. The power of the four pistons setup is only average. The components and the gears are less in the spotlight with an EMTB than with bikes without motor. Nevertheless, when we take a look we find out that here, good components are always used. When it comes to the geometry, Orbea does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Orbea WILD M10

Overall, the WILD M10 is, due to a very good range, a good motor and a good chassis is a good all-rounder for long trips on extremely demanding single trails. Only a middle ground brake system slightly tarnish the otherwise successful overall picture. The guarantee promise of 25 years provides trust.
