Rockrider E-Expl 700 S Review

At steep sections, the somewhat weak Brose motor requires a lot of initiative from the rider. The Brose Drive T Alu gives off a natural riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the E-Expl 700 S with only an average range.

The chassis unfortunately isn't great. Riders might lack comfort on rough terrain. At the rear, the steel spring shock absorber provides maximum sensitivity. In descending situations, the Tektro brakes require a lot of hand strength or, optionally, courage from the biker. With two pistons, they only brake poorly. The drivetrain and components have a subordinate but not to be neglected importance when it comes to EMTB. Even the bike brand product managers know this and don't aim too high with mostly average components. When it comes to the geometry, Rockrider does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The bottom bracket is high, which costs handling points. This tends to make the rider stand on the bike. On other EMTBs it feels better integrated. With weight, the E-Expl 700 S is generally one of the heavier e-bikes on the market.
