As the little brother of the Rocky Mountain Altitude, the Instinct Powerplay Alloy 30 comes with the same features and looks. The numerous adjustment options for geometry and shock suspension appeal primarily to experienced bikers. The display sits well protected in the top tube in case of a fall.
Even nasty steep sections are effortlessly climbed by the motor. The Dyname 4.0 conveys a riding feeling. Fans of XXL tours are greatly restricted by the Instinct Powerplay Alloy 30 with only an average range.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the Rocky Mountain Instinct Powerplay Alloy 30 in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (6000) .

As the hits get faster and harder the average chassis limits the downhill fun. At the brakes, Rocky Mountain middle class four pistons brakes by Shimano are used. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Rocky Mountain uses average parts. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. Furthermore, the bike lies excellent on the trail thanks to its low bottom bracket and thus low centre of gravity. Due to the short chainstays , when climbing steep sections, it requires active weight shifting to prevent the front wheel from lifting. Hell yeah, the geometry is killer! Here the know-how of the Rocky Mountain developers is videly visible. We love deep bottom brackets, as long as it's going downhill. Uphill you need to be aware that the crank can sometimes hit the ground.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Rocky Mountain Instinct Powerplay Alloy 30

The Instinct Powerplay Alloy 30 isnt`t a specialist on the trail. Despite a simple chassis and an average motor, it remains thanks to a very good geometry a solid all-rounder with a wide range of use. Praise-worthy: 5 years of Warranty on the Frame!
