The development of the R.X275 ULTRA was mercilessly subordinated to one goal: The absolute lightweight construction. The filigree frame and the engine concept fit perfectly into the current trend around the topic light E-MTB.
The TQ HPR 50 is not one of the powerhouses on the market. The somewhat low torque engine could use a bit more support, especially on steep climbs. The motor control of TQ conveys a very well-rounded riding experience. The gentle power delivery is an ace up the sleeve of the HPR 50. The short range unfortunately limits the tour radius quite significantly. The battery is firmly integrated into the frame and can not be easily removed.

At a glance

The most importanten ratings of the R.X275 ULTRA in comparison to the competitor bikes of following categorie: (12000) .

With only 130 mm travel of the Fox chassis, it's not exactly generously equipped. However, in its preferred habitat, the Fox chassis works well in its on challenging single trails. Bad brakes reduce the riding pleasure. Fortunately, this is not the case with the R.X275 ULTRA. With their two pistons the Shimano brake brakes good. At the drivetrain components and the rest of the parts, Rotwild leaves almost no wishes open and only uses excellent parts. When it comes to the geometry, Rotwild does not go completely crazy. The head tube angle and reach values were chosen with care. The result: A balanced riding behaviour with a good combination of playfulness and straight-line stability. The low bottom bracket height is a party pooper for the handling on the trail. On other bikes, you are more centrally located behind the handlebar. Short chainstays and and a slack seat angle make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward. Hell yeah, the geometry is killer! Here the know-how of the Rotwild developers is videly visible. The low weight combined with the very pleasant geometry ensures a very natural and agile handling. With very few other EMTBs, you forget so quickly that you are moving a bike with a motor, as with the R.X275 ULTRA.

Conclusion

Expirience with the Rotwild R.X275 ULTRA

If you're looking for a comfortable ride for everyday use, the R.X275 ULTRA isn't for you, because this bike only knows one gear when going downhill - full throttle! With a top-notch handling, a good chassis and a good brake system, it puts most of the competition on flowing trails in its place.
