Carbon frames are rather the exception in the price range of about 5500€. With the carbon fibre chassis, Stevens thus sets clear accents compared to the aluminium competitors. In comparison, it's noticeable that the direct competition mounts better chassises, thus offering significantly more control. At the brakes, Stevens middle class four pistons brakes by Shimano are used. The components and the shifting seem less important for Stevens. The components used here have a clear potential for improvement after a view at the competitors. The moderate head tube angle provides a good compromise between stability and agility when going downhill. The reach is also right there in the middle ground. The low bottom bracket height will likely be a sticking point for trail riders, as it negatively affects handling. Short chainstays and make the front end light in steep climbs. To keep the front wheel on the ground, you need to consciously lean forward.
